I graduated from Jay High School in 1973. I then attended two years at Northeastern A&M on a livestock judging scholarship. After graduating from NEO, I went to the University of Kentucky on a livestock judging scholarship and then finished the following year at Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science.

I have attended several conferences and workshops pertaining to Alternative Education.
I started teaching In School Intervention at Jay High School in 2004. I taught ISI for 5 years and then started teaching Alternative education. I am currently teaching Alternative education and have been since 2010. I also coach the archery team, which I started in 2011. Our Archery team has finished in the top three in the state during this time and we have made the Archey Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky, in four of those years.
I am married to Dianna Woods.We have four children and eight grandchildren. We live on a 130 acre ranch south of Jay, where we spend all of our spare time raising show cattle and taking the grandchildren to cattle shows.
My hobbies are horseback riding, raising show cattle, and taking my grandchildren to cattle shows.
